A quick and easy homemade fudge combining silky chocolate with a refreshing mint flavor, perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any cozy occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz (396 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tbsp (57 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (170 g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp pure peppermint extract
  • a few drops green food coloring (optional)
  • ½ cup (85 g) chopped Andes mint candies (optional)
  • pinch of sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting edges hang over sides for easy lifting.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine softened butter and sweetened condensed milk. Stir gently until butter melts and mixture is smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Remove pan from heat and stir in semi-sweet and white chocolate chips until melted and glossy.
  4. Add peppermint extract and green food coloring if using; stir to combine.
  5. Stir in chopped Andes mint candies if desired.
  6. Pour mixture into prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the surface.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until completely firm.
  8. Lift fudge from pan using parchment paper edges and cut into 1-inch squares with a sharp knife warmed in hot water.

Notes

Use low heat and stir constantly to avoid grainy fudge. Chill fudge for at least 3 hours for best results. Warm knife in hot water before slicing for clean edges. Use high-quality chocolate for smoother texture and richer flavor. Peppermint extract is potent; adjust to taste.
