A quick and elegant gift idea featuring fresh strawberries dipped in rich chocolate, arranged beautifully in a bouquet box. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 medium to large fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or baking bars
  • 2 oz (60g) white chocolate (optional, for drizzling decoration)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • Toothpicks or wooden skewers
  • Sprinkles or crushed nuts (optional, e.g., crushed pistachios, shredded coconut, or rainbow sprinkles)
  • Box or container (sturdy, shallow gift box or craft box lined with parchment or tissue paper)
  • Ribbon or decorative paper

Instructions

  1. Rinse about 20 medium to large strawberries gently under cold water. Pat completely dry with paper towels, leaving the green tops on for a natural handle and pretty presentation. (Time: 10 minutes)
  2. Break or chop 8 oz (225g) of semi-sweet chocolate into small pieces. Melt using a double boiler or microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring frequently until smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vegetable or coconut oil for a glossy finish. (Time: 5-7 minutes)
  3. Hold each strawberry by the green stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat evenly but not too thickly. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Immediately sprinkle with crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut if desired. Place dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. (Time: 10-15 minutes)
  4. Melt 2 oz (60g) of white chocolate separately using the same method. Drizzle thin ribbons over the dipped strawberries for decoration using a small spoon or piping bag. (Time: 5 minutes)
  5. Place the baking sheet with dipped strawberries in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes until the chocolate is completely set.
  6. Line your chosen box with parchment or tissue paper. Arrange the strawberries upright on skewers or toothpicks, spacing them evenly to mimic a floral bouquet. Add small filler items like mint leaves or edible flowers if desired. Tie a ribbon around the box for a finishing touch.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing or sliding off. Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor and texture. Chill strawberries before dipping to speed up chocolate setting. Handle strawberries by leaves or skewers to avoid fingerprints on chocolate. Store in refrigerator and consume within 1-2 days for best freshness.
