A beautifully arranged charcuterie board combining savory meats, creamy cheeses, fresh fruits, and sweet accents, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any romantic celebration. Quick and easy to assemble, it offers a delightful mix of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

  • Cured salami slices (Sopressata recommended)
  • Prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • Smoked ham or turkey slices (optional)
  • Soft goat cheese, room temperature
  • Sharp cheddar, cut into cubes
  • Brie wheel, sliced
  • Parmesan shards
  • Ripe strawberries, halved
  • Red grapes, washed and stemmed
  • Baby carrots or cucumber slices
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs
  • Mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pistachios), lightly toasted
  • Dark chocolate chunks or dipped strawberries
  • Honey or fig jam (local raw honey recommended)
  • Crackers and artisanal bread slices

Instructions

  1. Remove all cheeses from the fridge about 30 minutes before assembling so they soften slightly. Cut the cheddar into bite-sized cubes, slice the brie into wedges, and shave Parmesan into shards. Spread the goat cheese into a small bowl, stirring in a teaspoon of fresh chopped herbs like thyme or rosemary.
  2. Lay out prosciutto slices gently so they don’t tear, and fold or roll salami slices for a pretty presentation. If using smoked ham or turkey, cut into strips or small rolls.
  3. Wash and halve strawberries, stem grapes, and slice cucumbers or prepare baby carrots. Arrange fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs to use as garnish and aroma boosters.
  4. Start by placing small bowls for honey, jam, and nuts spaced evenly. Fill in with cheeses, meats, and fruits in clusters, mixing colors and shapes for visual appeal. Add crackers and bread slices last, filling gaps and balancing textures.
  5. Drizzle honey over goat cheese or add a few dark chocolate chunks near the fruits. Scatter a handful of nuts around the board for crunch. Step back and admire your work.

Notes

Let cheeses come to room temperature before serving for best flavor. Arrange items in odd numbers for visual appeal. Avoid overcrowding the board to keep it easy to serve. Prepare fruits and slice cheeses a few hours ahead if needed, but assemble close to serving time to keep freshness. Substitute almond flour crackers or dairy-free cheeses for dietary needs.
