A magical, fizzy green punch with a dramatic dry ice fog effect that tastes like carbonated apple candy with a citrus kick. Perfect for Halloween parties and cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (46 oz) pineapple juice
  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 bottle (64 oz) lemonade
  • 1 bottle (2 liters) ginger ale
  • 1 liter club soda or seltzer water
  • 12 drops green food coloring (optional)
  • 1 block dry ice (about 12 pounds)
  • Ice ring or large ice cubes
  • Lime wheels (for garnish, optional)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (for garnish, optional)
  • Edible glitter or shimmer dust (for garnish, optional)
  • Gummy worms or spiders (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the ice ring (4-6 hours before serving): Fill a bundt pan or ring mold halfway with water. Arrange lime wheels, mint sprigs, and edible glitter in the water. Freeze for 2 hours, then add more water to fill the mold completely. Freeze for another 2-4 hours until solid.
  2. Mix the punch base (up to 24 hours ahead): In a large pitcher, combine pineapple juice, thawed limeade concentrate, and lemonade. Stir well until the limeade is fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Cover and refrigerate.
  3. Chill everything: About an hour before serving, put the ginger ale, club soda, and punch base in the fridge to get very cold.
  4. Prepare the dry ice (right before serving): Wearing insulated gloves, use a hammer and clean cloth to break the dry ice block into golf ball-sized chunks. Set aside.
  5. Assemble the punch: In a punch bowl, pour the chilled punch base. Add ginger ale and club soda, stirring gently. Add 1-2 drops of green food coloring if desired and stir until combined.
  6. Add the ice ring: Carefully remove the ice ring from the mold by running warm water over the outside. Place it gently into the punch bowl, frozen garnish side up.
  7. Add the dry ice: Using tongs, drop 2-3 chunks of dry ice into the punch. Do not stir. The fog will roll over the sides. Add more dry ice every 15-20 minutes to maintain the effect.
  8. Serve immediately: Ladle the punch into cups, ensuring no pieces of dry ice end up in anyone’s glass. Warn guests not to drink the dry ice chunks.

Notes

Temperature is key for the dry ice effect—chill all liquids thoroughly. Start with 2-3 chunks of dry ice and add more as needed. Never handle dry ice with bare skin. The punch base can be made up to 3 days ahead; add carbonated drinks and dry ice just before serving.
