These creamy high-protein cottage cheese breakfast bowls are the kind of thing you make when you want to feel good about what you’re eating without feeling like you’re sacrificing flavor. They come together in about five minutes, keep you full for hours, and are endlessly customizable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup full-fat cottage cheese (about 225g)
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (optional)
  • ½ cup fresh berries (about 75g)
  • ½ medium banana, sliced (about 50g)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (about 15g)
  • 1 tablespoon seeds (chia, hemp, or pumpkin)
  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons granola (about 10g)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Scoop 1 cup of cottage cheese into a bowl. If using Greek yogurt, stir it in until well combined.
  2. Rinse and pat dry berries. Slice banana into thin rounds. Arrange fruit on top of cottage cheese in a single layer.
  3. Optional: Toast nuts in a small skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden. Let cool.
  4. Sprinkle toasted nuts, seeds, and granola evenly over the fruit.
  5. Drizzle 1-2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup over the top. Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best texture, serve immediately. If meal prepping, store cottage cheese base separately from toppings and combine just before eating. Toasted nuts add significant flavor. For a smoother texture, blend cottage cheese and Greek yogurt in a blender for 30 seconds.
