  • 1 standard 8-ounce tube (about 226 grams) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons (about 28 grams) melted butter
  • Mustard or ketchup for decorating eyes (optional)
  • Pinch of garlic powder, smoked paprika, or Italian herbs (optional)
  • Small strips or shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean surface and press down the seams gently to seal them together.
  3. Cut the dough into thin strips about 1/4 inch (6 mm) wide using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
  4. If using cheese, lay a small strip of cheese along each hot dog before wrapping.
  5. Wrap each hot dog with the crescent dough strips, leaving gaps to create a mummy look. Wrap at a slight angle and not too tightly.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
  7. Brush melted butter over each mummy and sprinkle optional seasonings if desired.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.
  10. Add eyes with mustard or ketchup using a toothpick or tip of a knife.
  11. Serve warm.
