These crispy mummy hot dog crescent rolls wrapped in flaky dough and served with a spicy sriracha honey sauce are an easy, fun, and crowd-pleasing Halloween snack or casual dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 regular-sized hot dogs (all-beef or natural casing recommended)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • For the spicy sriracha honey sauce:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • Optional: pinch of garlic powder or smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough on a clean surface and press perforations to seal into one large sheet.
  3. Cut dough into thin strips about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, leaving small gaps so the hot dog peeks through like mummy wrappings. Leave a small space near one end for the eyes.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet with eye gaps facing up.
  6. Dot two small mustard eyes onto each mummy using a toothpick or small spoon.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until crescent dough is golden brown and crispy. Tent with foil if browning too fast.
  8. While baking, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, vinegar, and optional garlic powder in a small bowl to make the spicy sriracha honey sauce. Adjust heat and sweetness to taste.
  9. Let baked mummies cool slightly and serve with the spicy sriracha honey sauce for dipping.

Notes

Do not wrap hot dogs too tightly to avoid soggy dough; leave gaps for crispiness. Seal crescent dough perforations well to prevent unraveling. Add mustard eyes just before baking to prevent running or burning. Tent with foil if dough browns too quickly. Leftover dough can be baked with cinnamon sugar for a sweet treat. Reheat leftovers in a 350°F oven for 5–7 minutes to restore crispiness; avoid microwaving.
