These easy no-bake protein energy bites are the perfect after-school snack. Made with simple, real ingredients like oats, peanut butter, and chocolate chips, they come together in just 10 minutes and are a crowd-pleaser for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups (135g) rolled oats
  • ½ cup (130g) creamy peanut butter
  • ⅓ cup (110g) honey
  • ⅓ cup (60g) dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (14g) ground flaxseed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  2. Add the rolled oats, dark chocolate chips, ground flaxseed, and salt. Stir until everything is evenly coated and the mixture resembles stiff cookie dough.
  3. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes to allow the oats to absorb moisture.
  4. Lightly wet your hands with cold water to prevent sticking.
  5. Scoop about 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of the mixture and roll into smooth balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.

Notes

For best texture, use old-fashioned rolled oats and standard creamy peanut butter. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes before rolling to allow oats to absorb moisture. Wet your hands with cold water to prevent sticking. Chilling for at least 30 minutes is essential for the bites to hold their shape.
