This easy peppermint bark fudge recipe is a simple, no-bake holiday treat made with just three ingredients. It’s creamy, dense, and topped with crunchy candy cane pieces, perfect for gifting or holiday parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (198g) marshmallow creme (about 1 ½ cups)
  • 1 can (14 oz / 396g) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup (60g) crushed candy canes (about 68 standard candy canes)
  • ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of overhang on two opposite sides. Lightly spray the parchment with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Place 6-8 candy canes in a sturdy zip-top bag or wrap them in a clean kitchen towel. Use a rolling pin or heavy skillet to crush them into small pieces (mix of fine crumbs and pea-sized chunks). Set aside about ¼ cup for topping.
  3. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and sweetened condensed milk.
  4. Stir continuously with a silicone spatula for 5-7 minutes until the mixture is smooth, glossy, and thick. Remove from heat. If using peppermint extract, stir it in now.
  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly with the spatula.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the reserved crushed candy canes over the top and gently press them into the surface.
  7. Place the pan in the refrigerator, uncovered, for at least 2 hours (or 3-4 hours for best results).
  8. Once firm, use the parchment overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Place on a cutting board and cut into 1-inch squares (about 64 squares). Wipe the knife clean between cuts for neat edges.

Notes

Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan to prevent scorching. Do not substitute marshmallow creme with mini marshmallows. For clean cuts, use a warm knife and wipe between slices. The fudge flavor improves after a day in the fridge.
