A quick and easy sheet pan dinner featuring tender salmon fillets glazed with a sticky honey Dijon sauce and roasted alongside crisp-tender asparagus. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 ounces (170 g) each
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley or dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, and fresh lemon juice until smooth. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Trim the asparagus by snapping off the woody ends. Arrange the asparagus in a single layer on a prepared sheet pan.
  4. Drizzle half of the honey Dijon glaze over the asparagus and toss gently to coat evenly.
  5. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on the sheet pan, spaced evenly apart.
  6. Brush the remaining honey Dijon glaze generously over the top and sides of each salmon fillet.
  7. Roast in the oven for 12-15 minutes, depending on thickness, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and asparagus is crisp-tender and slightly caramelized.
  8. If desired, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end for extra caramelization.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or dill and serve immediately with a wedge of lemon.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before glazing to ensure crispy skin and better glaze adherence. Do not overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming the asparagus. Start checking salmon doneness at 12 minutes to prevent overcooking. For thicker asparagus stalks, slice lengthwise for even roasting. Broil briefly at the end for extra caramelization if desired.
