A quick and elegant flatbread featuring a crispy crust topped with creamy honey goat cheese, sweet figs, and savory prosciutto, perfect for entertaining or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 store-bought flatbread or naan (810 inches)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 4 ounces soft goat cheese, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of cracked black pepper (optional)
  • 68 fresh figs, thinly sliced (or dried figs soaked in warm water)
  • 34 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 1 cup fresh arugula or baby spinach (optional)
  • Drizzle of honey for finishing
  • Cracked black pepper and flaky sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a pizza stone in the oven to heat for at least 20 minutes if using.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together goat cheese, honey, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy. Add cracked black pepper if desired. Set aside.
  3. Lightly brush both sides of the flatbread with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the flatbread on the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 5-7 minutes until warm and slightly golden but not browned.
  5. Remove flatbread from oven and spread the honey goat cheese mixture evenly over the warm surface.
  6. Arrange thin fig slices evenly over the cheese, then layer the prosciutto slices, folding them for texture.
  7. Return the flatbread to the oven and bake for another 5-8 minutes until the cheese sets slightly and prosciutto edges crisp up.
  8. Remove from oven and scatter fresh arugula or baby spinach on top if using. Drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper.
  9. Slice into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use room temperature goat cheese for easier spreading. Thinly slice figs for best texture. Watch baking time closely to avoid burning prosciutto. For a crispier crust, preheat baking surface and consider broiling briefly at the end. Substitute dairy-free cheese and smoked tempeh or mushrooms for a vegan version. Use gluten-free crust for gluten-free diet.
