A refreshing and easy-to-make cherry twist on the classic Moscow Mule, perfect for summer. This alcohol-free mocktail combines fresh cherries, lime, and spicy ginger beer for a bright, tangy, and fizzy drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved (preferably Bing cherries)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)
  • 8 ounces ginger beer (spicy, natural brand recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (plenty)
  • A small handful of fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: fresh ginger slices for extra zing
  • Optional: splash of sparkling water for a lighter drink

Instructions

  1. Pit and halve about 1 cup of fresh cherries (about 5 minutes).
  2. Place cherries in a small bowl or mixing glass. Add 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice and 1 tablespoon simple syrup.
  3. Gently muddle the cherries with a muddler or wooden spoon to release juices but keep some texture (2-3 minutes).
  4. Fill a copper mug or tall glass with plenty of ice cubes.
  5. Spoon the muddled cherry mixture over the ice.
  6. Pour in 8 ounces of ginger beer and stir gently to mix without losing fizz.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a lime wedge on the rim.
  8. Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.

Notes

Do not over-muddle cherries to avoid bitterness. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Chill copper mugs before serving to keep the drink colder longer. Adjust simple syrup based on cherry sweetness. Stir gently after adding ginger beer to preserve fizz. Cherry puree can be made a day ahead and refrigerated.
