A quick and easy 5-ingredient appetizer featuring cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, blueberries, creamy burrata cheese, and balsamic glaze. Perfect for summer gatherings and patriotic occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 20 fresh basil leaves, washed and patted dry
  • 20 fresh blueberries
  • 8 ounces creamy burrata cheese, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Optional: coarse sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper for seasoning

Instructions

  1. Wash the cherry tomatoes, basil leaves, and blueberries thoroughly. Dry gently with a paper towel or clean kitchen cloth.
  2. Halve the cherry tomatoes lengthwise. Tear the burrata into roughly 1-inch pieces.
  3. Thread one cherry tomato half, one basil leaf (folded if large), one piece of burrata, and one blueberry onto each skewer. Repeat if skewers are longer.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter. Lightly sprinkle with coarse sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper if desired.
  5. Drizzle the balsamic glaze evenly over the skewers using a spoon or squeeze bottle.
  6. Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh flavors and creamy texture. If storing, cover loosely and refrigerate up to 24 hours, keeping balsamic glaze separate until serving.

Notes

Let burrata and other ingredients come to room temperature before assembling for best creaminess. Tear burrata gently by hand to preserve texture. If balsamic glaze is too runny, simmer gently to thicken. Assemble skewers shortly before serving to keep basil fresh and prevent sogginess. Optional to lightly grill skewers for 2-3 minutes for smoky flavor.
