A refreshing and hydrating summer drink blending sweet watermelon, crisp cucumber, and bright mint with a hint of lime and optional sweetness. Perfect for cooling off and savoring a moment of calm.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600g) seedless watermelon, cubed
  • 1 medium cucumber (about 200g), peeled and chopped
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tablespoons or 30ml)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups (240-360ml) cold water
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit and herbs: cut watermelon into chunks, peel and chop cucumber, rinse mint leaves.
  2. In a blender, combine watermelon, cucumber, mint leaves, and lime juice. Blend on high for 45-60 seconds until smooth and vibrant pink.
  3. Taste the blend and add honey or agave syrup if needed. Pour in 1 cup cold water and blend for 10 more seconds. Add up to ½ cup more water if desired for consistency.
  4. Optional: strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher for a smooth texture.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the agua fresca over. Garnish with mint sprig or cucumber slice if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 24 hours.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best sweetness and juiciness. Avoid over-blending mint to prevent bitterness. Straining is optional depending on texture preference. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours and stir before serving. Variations include swapping mint for basil or cilantro, adding jalapeño for spice, or topping with sparkling water for fizz.
