A quick and easy healthy Halloween trail mix with pretzels, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate chips, and dried cranberries. Perfect for snacking during Halloween parties, movie marathons, or road trips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mini pretzels (about 120g)
  • 1 cup pumpkin seeds (pepitas), raw or lightly toasted, unsalted (about 140g)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries, unsweetened or lightly sweetened (about 140g)
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips, 70% cacao (about 90g)
  • ½ cup dried banana chips, optional (about 30g)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened coconut flakes, optional (about 20g)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, optional

Instructions

  1. If using raw pumpkin seeds, toast them: spread on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned. Let cool completely.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine mini pretzels, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, dark chocolate chips, and optional banana chips and coconut flakes. Toss gently with hands or a spatula.
  3. If desired, drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup over the mixture and toss well to coat evenly.
  4. If you added a drizzle, spread the mix on a baking sheet or large plate and let rest for 10-15 minutes to set. If no drizzle, serve immediately.
  5. Taste and adjust balance: add more cranberries or chocolate if too salty, or more pretzels and seeds if too sweet.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For best texture, toast pumpkin seeds to bring out nutty flavor. Use room temperature chocolate chips to prevent melting. Adjust salt level by tasting as you go. The mix tastes even better after a day or two as flavors meld. For a festive Halloween look, add candy corn or mini marshmallows.
