A festive and easy game day snack featuring pepperoni roses, sharp cheddar, assorted crackers, and complementary bites that create a crowd-pleasing centerpiece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1520 thin pepperoni slices (e.g., Hormel brand)
  • 8 ounces (225g) sharp cheddar cheese, sliced or cubed
  • Assorted crackers (buttery water crackers, multigrain crisps, seeded crackers)
  • Handful of fresh red grapes or blackberries
  • Toasted almonds or pecans
  • Small bowl of Kalamata or green olives
  • Mustard or honey mustard dip (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (rosemary sprigs or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pepperoni roses: Fold one slice of pepperoni in half lengthwise, then roll tightly from one end to create a rosebud shape. Secure with a toothpick if needed. Repeat until you have about 15-20 roses.
  2. Slice the cheddar cheese into bite-sized cubes or thin slices.
  3. Arrange a selection of assorted crackers on a large wooden or slate charcuterie board, leaving space for cheese and pepperoni roses.
  4. Scatter fresh grapes or berries around the board in small clusters.
  5. Place olives and toasted nuts in small bowls and nestle them on the board.
  6. Carefully position the pepperoni roses on the board, grouping them for visual impact. Use tweezers or small tongs to avoid squishing.
  7. Garnish the board with sprigs of rosemary or thyme around the edges.
  8. Optionally, add a small bowl of honey mustard dip near the cheese and crackers for dipping.

Notes

Use chilled pepperoni slices for easier rolling. Secure roses loosely with toothpicks to avoid squishing. Keep the board cold until serving for best presentation. Store leftovers separately and consume within 2 days. For gluten-free, use gluten-free crackers and verify nuts and olives are processed gluten-free. Vegetarian option: replace pepperoni roses with rolled roasted red pepper strips or sun-dried tomato slices.
