This spooky witches brew green punch is the perfect Halloween party centerpiece, featuring a dramatic dry ice fog effect and a bright, citrusy flavor that both kids and adults love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups pineapple juice (unsweetened, not from concentrate if possible)
  • 3 cups green apple juice (look for fresh-pressed in the refrigerated section)
  • 2 cups limeade concentrate (thawed)
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7Up)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Green food coloring (gel works best)
  • Neon yellow food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup frozen lychee fruits
  • 1 cup green grapes (frozen)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (optional)
  • 12 pounds dry ice (food-grade only)

Instructions

  1. In a large punch bowl, combine the pineapple juice, green apple juice, and thawed limeade concentrate. Whisk until the concentrate is fully dissolved.
  2. Add 4 drops of green gel food coloring and 2 drops of neon yellow. Whisk thoroughly, then check the color. Add more food coloring one drop at a time until you get a vibrant, electric green shade (about 8 drops green and 4 drops yellow total).
  3. Cover the punch bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours.
  4. While the base chills, prepare garnishes: rinse frozen lychee fruits and pat dry. For an extra creepy touch, place a small blueberry inside each lychee to create a pupil effect. Freeze green grapes on a baking sheet for at least 1 hour.
  5. Just before serving, remove the punch bowl from the refrigerator. Pour in the lemon-lime soda and cold water, then stir gently.
  6. Drop in the frozen lychee fruits and green grapes. Add a few mint sprigs around the edges.
  7. Put on thick gloves or use tongs to place small pieces of dry ice into the punch (about 1/4 pound per gallon of liquid). Do not let anyone touch or consume the dry ice pieces.
  8. Ladle the punch into cups, being careful not to scoop up any dry ice pieces. The dry ice effect lasts about 30 minutes; add more pieces as needed.

Notes

Always use food-grade dry ice and handle with tongs or thick gloves. Never touch dry ice with bare skin or let anyone consume it. The dry ice effect is most dramatic in the first 15-20 minutes; refresh with more pieces halfway through the party. Start with less food coloring than you think you need to avoid staining lips and teeth.
